The biodegradable living urn lets life be reborn: from ashes to a beautiful living tree! The ashes are deposited in a funeral urn made from ecological and biodegradable materials. You decide what type of seedling you plant. Then, just bury the urn making sure to let the plant have enough space, and the seedling will feed on the nutrients from the ashes and the soil to create a truly beautiful reminder of your loved one. Bio Urn Canada was founded in 2014 to offer an environmentally friendly alternative to the more traditional methods that are more polluting. Our ecological alternative allows your loss to have another life by planting a tree while giving back as well. Each urn that is planted participates in the one tree for humanity movement by reforesting the planet one tree at a time. Bio Urn Canada also gives $5 to a non-profit organization with each biodegradable living urn sold.
Our urn is made from recycled bamboo cellulose, a durable and renewable material. Our urn will hold up to 5 lbs (2.27 kg) of ashes and decomposes within 2 months in the soil.
Please contact Bio Urn Canada to coordinate the delivery of your seedling with the burial date. Please note the seedlings are delivered from May to the end of October.

The biodegradable urn has no expiry date and will last for several years if free from humidity.
